First Air
First Air is owned by the Makivik Corporation which represents the Inuit of Northern Québec. It serves 29 communities all over Northern Canada.

By Road
For the most adventurous, Yellowknife can be reached by road from Edmonton, the closest major city at 1500km by road. The journey can be done over two days. Cars can be rented at Edmonton International Airport. Make sure to check road conditions as well as the status of the Mackenzie ferry before setting out on this lengthy journey.
Daily Greyhound Bus Service leaves Edmonton at midnight and arrives in 23 hours at 11pm in Yellowknife.
Car Rentals
For trips outside Yellowknife, several agencies offer a variety of cars and trucks for rent. Budget and Hertz rental agencies service the airport, while in town, cars and trucks can be rented from National and Yellowknife Motors Ltd.

In Yellowknife
Yellowknife is an eminently walkable city. Taxi fares from the airport to downtown average about $12-15. In addition, most hotels are located within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the Congress site. Scenic Old Town is slightly further at 15-20 minutes from downtown.
